Dongnimmun Park

This park is famous for the Western-style arch at the entrance. This is the spot where Chinese emperors used to be officially welcomed to Seoul. All of the monuements are dedicated to the Korean independence movement. The park is right next to the prision.
I loved these old men in the pictures!!! They kept saying hi to us!! They're so cute! Compared to Taiwan, it was really the older generations that would approach us to speak English. In Taiwan, it's more of the parents pushing their kids to speak English to the foreigner. I think in Korea, it might have something to do with America's involvement in the Korean War. I'm not sure. But I would think this a vaild reason for being more open about approaching us.
