Not only do I loath reporters...
and having my picture taken, but I also hate finding out the next day (from people I don't even know) that I've been put in the newspaper without my knowledge or consent. This upsets me greatly.
I can't wait to get back to a life of anonymity. As much as I want to be some famous singer, I've realized that I don't want the lifestyle that comes along with it. I like my privacy too much. Only 33 more days to go.
Graduations are coming up soon. I'll be singing at one of the graduation services. The 6th grade teacher asked if I would sing a song in English. You know I said yes!! The most difficult part was coming up with a song since most of my music on my computer is worship music! Finally, I chose the song, "For Good," from the musical, "Wicked." If you get a chance to hear it, listen closely. I feel as if it truly expresses my heart towards these kids. I need a lot of practice! I get choked up when I sing it.
I'm quite happy to announce that I've started to use big words again. I've been writing more, so that's helped. I've penned a few songs here and there as well.
I went to drop off some forms and paperwork for my new job that starts in September. I ended up staying and observing the kindergarten (I will be teaching these students in the fall as 1st graders). These kids are AWESOME!!!! They were having conversations with me in English almost like adults! Most of them had no Taiwanese accent in their English! I was completely blown away by the fact these are KINDERGARTENERS!!! When I taught kindergarten in Indiana, my kids couldn't even speak English well!
Anyway, I'll leave you with the lyrics to "For Good." Bon nuit!! (I've recently learned a lot of French words and phrases...now it's on to Creole...Nap parle)!

(Elphaba) I'm limited
Just look at me - I'm limited
And just look at you
You can do all I couldn't do, Glinda
So now it's up to you
For both of us - now it's up to you...
(Glinda) I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you
Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you
I have been changed for good
(Elphaba) It well may be
That we will never meet again
In this lifetime
So let me say before we part
So much of me
Is made of what I learned from you
You'll be with me
Like a handprint on my heart
And now whatever way our stories end
I know you have re-written mine
By being my friend...
Like a ship blown from its mooring
By a wind off the sea
Like a seed dropped by a skybird
In a distant wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you
(Glinda) Because I knew you
(Both) I have been changed for good
(Elphaba) And just to clear the air
I ask forgiveness
For the thing I've done you blame me for
(Glinda) But then, I guess we know
There's blame to share
(Both) And none of it seems to matter anymore
(Glinda) Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood
(Elphaba) Like a ship blown from its mooring
By a wind off the sea
Like a seed dropped by a bird in the wood
(Both) Who can say if I've been
Changed for the better?
I do believe I have been
Changed for the better
(Glinda) And because I knew you...
(Elphaba) Because I knew you...
(Both) Because I knew you...
I have been changed for good.
