The Return Home...Another Long Layover in Hong Kong
China was interesting. Growing up in New York City, I've never seen such poverty before in my life!! I was really an eye-opener. I'll post pictures probably tomorrow. I can't wait to share them with you.
So, this is what happened on my last day in Xi'An:
First, the only English station was CNN. Today being the first day of the Lunar year, many people in Asia go to fortune tellers. I'm NOT one of them, but the CNN people gave the US presidential canditates pictures and birth dates to fortunte tellers in Hong Kong. I won't get into all the "results," but I found Mike Huckabee's HILARIOUS!!!
Most of you know that Huckabee is the most honest about his beliefs. The fortune teller said something about his character and then said, "The gods don't love him!"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I wonder why the gods don't love him...probably because he's a preacher that's not afraid to speak truth!
Secondly, I went the Wild Goose Pagoda, which is actually a buddhist temple. I took a bunch of pictures and some woman followed me and my guide out of the temple. She was screaming at me for taking a picture of the buddha. My guide wanted to tell her off, but all he said was that it doesn't matter because I don't believe it and that she should push her beliefs on foreigners. (Side note: I gave my guide a Gospel tract in a red envelope...te he he).
I told the guide he should have told me what she was saying when she said it. He could have translated for me and I would have disproved buddhism in under 5 minutes! Oh, well...my guide in Xi'An was not buddhist. In fact, the only thing he believes in is himself...
On another note, I get to see my friend, Jessica, tonight...She's been away in the U.S. since March...I've really missed her. She came back to Taiwan this week...it's going to be a laaaate night!!
More to come when I get home...
